Hi!

I am a Christ follower blessed with a faith-filled husband, 2 incredible sons and so much more. God is so faithful! Being the only girl, I am always surrounded by hockey, baseball, football, muscle cars, loud noises, and all the wonderful things that make men who they are. But, I was born a girly-girl and like everything pink, frilly, and with jewelry and makeup added! Often I’ve felt as if my disjointed, but blessed lifestyle is overrun by testosterone! But, I have found that God is perfect and He knew the balance I needed ~ the perfect men in my pink-colored world: pigs in champagne!

Guest Bathroom Towel: Sheila and Victor

I also made this quick  little guest bath hand towel for Sheila and Victor. Hope they like it!

The towel is from Tuesday Morning and the large A is called Split Script from Rivermill. Their last name is a built-in font in my BL.

Kitchen Towel: Sheila

I couldn't show up at Joey's wedding with a kitchen towel for Nicole and not one for Sheila. I got my BabyLock after Sheila's wedding which is why I didn't embroider anything for her at that time. Joey and Nicole are getting an entire set of bath towels as well as kitchen towels so I wanted to at least do this one kitchen towel and one guest towel (next post) for her.

The towel is from a set of towels I picked up at Tuesday Morning. The design is from emblibrary.com. They have a bunch of those Peace * Love * you-name-it! I think my next one will be on an apron for Stephen and Will that says Peace * Love * Bacon LOL. And, "Sheila's Kitchen" is a built-in from my BL. I didn't have time to iron but it turned out really nice.

Apron Mother's Day Card: Zaira

Zaira's Mother's Day card. I used the apron die from TE and the embossing folder from Cricut that goes with the From My Kitchen cartridge. The paper is DCWV. It is an easel card and I think perfect for her!

Ralphie's Birthday Card

An easel card using a license plate die from MFT and patterned paper from Rhonda's. I made it when I went scrapping with Edna on our TWD last Friday. I love the stamps that come with that die - you can write anything inside! I hope he likes it. More importantly, I hope he knows what HB means!!! LOL

Sympathy Cards: White on White

Elegant sympathy cards. I love the simplicity and cleanliness of white. Added some silver/grey for just a touch of color but nothing too crazy. The cross is the new die from ACM. Of course, can never go wrong with embossing and more embossing. Much to my dismay two of the three are already spoken for: Judee (her mom passed away last week) and for the chief whose mom is in hospice.

Gatefold Sympathy Card: B/W/Yellow

This is the faux gatefold technique I saw Joy from Obsessed with Scrapbooking post. I did it backwords but it still works! LOL My version:

Scrappin' with the Girls

Spent Tuesday of Spring Break with Maria and Teri. We started with breakfast at OPH, went to Rhonda's, scrapped all day, then had dinner at Village Tavern in Pembroke Gardens. What a great day! I made 6 cards that day: the three white sympathy cards, the faux gatefold, the masculine airplane bday card, and Zaira's Mother's Day card. I wanted to give each card its own post so I could find it easier in the future. Here I showcase the airplane card. I used the stamps from CTMH and the paper is from Rhonda's. Perfect match!

House Mouse February Class

These are my latest creations from Doyle's February HM class at Rhonda's. Of course, not one looks like hers LOL. Why am I such a rebel when I create??? I guess it helps keep me sane and coloring inside the lines when I do "real" life. The only card missing is the one of the stamp I kept ~ the three mice blowing up balloons. I gave it to Jackie for her birthday.

Scrapbooking T's

I am playing with different t's I can make for us so that when we get together to scrap we have cute shirts. I definitely want to make a "ho" set but am trying to figure out how to do that without being crude. LOL Here is my first attempt. The fonts are from my built-in library and the sayings are mine. Hope they like them! Of course, Maria's is the pink one and Teri's is the gray....

Masculine Kitchen Towel

Maria gave me a great idea when she said that her kitchen towel should have said, "Carlos' Kitchen" instead of "Maria's Kitchen" because he does all the cooking! Well, I had already made hers but I hadn't made Teri's so this is what I came up with. He can't say there is no respect here - I didn't add a ruffle LOL

The towel is another one from the Tuesday Morning set and the design is from my Baby Lock's built-in library. I thought it was perfect with that mustache! And, the font is from the library also. Need to get myself that software so I can start using other fonts without bringing in one letter at a time.

Bunny Towel

When I saw this design on one of my FB groups I knew I wanted to make it. I love, love it! It is so adorable. The towel was only $3 at WM and the washcloth was $1.59 (or something like that). What an incredible gift for under $5. I gave it to Sindy at school. It was the hit of the baby shower. Marlene even rated me a "4" on the scale! LOL

I took the pics late at night and they are washed out because of the flash. But, you get the idea. Adorable!

Baby Bibs

Found packs of bibs at Target. These came out to about $1.50 each. I like that the back is a coated fabric so that the baby won't get wet when he drools. I wanted them to be funny so I picked these designs. They are for one of the Associates at school who is pregnant.

Frank's "The Office" Joke

Well, Frank was promoted to AP at West Broward HS. So, he will be leaving the curriculum team. It is a great loss for us but he is ready for a change and will be a fantastic administrator. We are treating him to lunch tomorrow and wanted it to be memorable. With that being said, this is how he will see us when he walks in... LOL

The final chuckle will come when we hand him his shirt. Instead of "Frank" it will say, ...

ROFLMAO!!!

Couch Potato Robe

This is another Ralph Lauren robe I got at Kohl's after Christmas for like $15. It is really, really nice. I thought it would be perfect for Ralphie for Valentine's so I embroidered it with the best design I could find for him! Unfortunately, he wouldn't get off the couch so I could get a better pick...

Kitchen Towels Made Easy

So, I think I found the answer to my, "What do I give so-and-so for Christmas that is personal and functional yet cute?" An embroidered and ruffled kitchen towel!!! Or, perhaps a guest bathroom towel... It is really simple to embroider one of the quality towels from Tuesday Morning, then add a premade ruffle that I can get by the yard at J's or HL. I am going to start making these for all the girls in the office and for some of the teachers.  Here is what they look like when finished:

First Quilting Class

After sitting with Paula and Sheila for the Anita Goodesign embroidery workshop, I was mesmerized by the fact that you can create quilt blocks on an embroidery machine! Imagine my delight!!! Well, Paula (the "Nazi Quilter" as I lovingly call her) said that making quilt blocks in a machine is cheating and that I needed to learn to do it the right way FIRST. So, she made me sign up for her class and below is what happened on Day 1:

From fat quarters purchased at JoAnn's:

To strips cut with my new handy-dandy Olaf rotary cutter and Fiskars mat:

To strips sewn together to make a larger piece again:

To my very FIRST QUILT SQUARE!!! Yay. This is called the Rail Fence pattern: it is the same one they used in the purple AG quilt that I love. Think I will use this as 1/3 of a mug rug... Perhaps I will embroider the other side. We'll see...

Easter Towel

I was upstairs picking up/cleaning and thought, "Hey, why not just have my wonderful Spirit make a nice little towel for me while I clean?" Pulled out one of the pre-mades from Tuesday Morning and voila! I did take a few minutes to add the pink flower trim. Our guest bathroom is now ready for Easter...

Kitchen Towel for Maria

In my quest to practice, practice, practice and have kitchen towels embroider themselves while I sleep...I ventured into dangerous territory by making Maria a SOCK MONKEY dish towel. Ha!!! She is afraid of sock monkeys but I am hoping that after seeing this adorable little one she will start to warm up to them...

The towel is from a pack of 3 I got at Tuesday Morning. Ruffle is pre-made from either WM or J's or HL. Can't remember...they all seem to be very similar.

Monogram on Sweatshirt

$7 Sweatshirt from Wal-Mart
$1 Large monogram font from RiverMill
.89 Metro Thread embroidery spool thread
------------
Unique sweatshirt I can now wear outdoors and look like I got it at a boutique...

LOVING MY BL SPIRIT!!!

Kitchen Towel for JoAnna

Getting better and better with these! I can now hoop, baste, and float stabilizers on towels like it is second nature. Gone are the days of puckers, thread snags, breaks, and lost stitches in the nap. Honestly, not one complication in the last 10 projects! The only thing I didn't like about this was the shading on the wine glasses. But, that is a digitizing issue, not my machine or techniques. This one is for JoAnna. Her kitchen is a Tuscan theme but I know her heart is in a bottle of red wine...
