This week's challenge is to show how we create using a sketch we've developed. When I purchased Damask Decor, I took the handbook to work the next day to peruse. Well, I fell in love with the card feature. I then decided I wanted to incorporate one of those cards with the hot pink cherry brad I got at the convention to make my cousin a thank-you card (she loves cherries) for inviting me to see Wicked with her. I used a post-it note from my desk to draw what I wanted to do and when I got home I went straight to my craft studio. I don't keep a sketch pad or book like most of the girls. I keep a pack of index cards in my purse and a stack of post-its on my desk. Whenever I think of an idea, I just pull out an index card (or post-it) and jot it down! It may not be the prettiest method but it's handy, cheap, and it works LOL Here is the card:
It is so much more beautiful in person. It is elegant and stunning. The color of the cherries matches the ribbon perfectly. And, they are offset by the cream and brown of the cardstock. I used AC cardstock and shimmered only the flower with Tsukineko's Shimmer Spritz. I love that you can cut the card topper and card without having to worry about sizing! When you choose a size, the Cricut cuts the matching base perfectly. WHEE! I also punched a scalloped circle to put the cherries on then decided to use my reliable Gypsy to pull up my "circles" file where I saved every size possible. I cut one circle and double mounted. I've also been trying to replicate the gorgeous bows Melanie (Courtney Lane Designs) makes. I am not even close but working towards it... LOL Oh, I added tiny gems at the corners in the same pink. The card is A2 size.
Hi!
I am a Christ follower blessed with a faith-filled husband, 2 incredible sons and so much more. God is so faithful! Being the only girl, I am always surrounded by hockey, baseball, football, muscle cars, loud noises, and all the wonderful things that make men who they are. But, I was born a girly-girl and like everything pink, frilly, and with jewelry and makeup added! Often I’ve felt as if my disjointed, but blessed lifestyle is overrun by testosterone! But, I have found that God is perfect and He knew the balance I needed ~ the perfect men in my pink-colored world: pigs in champagne!
I love that big pink bow!! (I saw this on the Circle blog and had to come see the details!)
ReplyDeleteI just love this! Good luck in the challenge!
